It has been awhile since I’ve blogged.  I apologize.  The second half of 2016 kept throwing one thing after another at Misha and me.

I got food poisoning with effects that lingered for several weeks.  Misha was attacked by neighbors cats…twitce.  Windows 10 updates prevented me from using the internet for anything else for almost a full month.  Misha had a blister on her back that was slow to heal.  My hard drive crashed.  Misha got fleas and we took three months to break the cycle.

I had to throw in the towel for awhile, fix things, heal us both.  It might seem strange,  but this period strengthened my relationship with my dog.  Misha had to overcome several fears while I nurtured her wounds.  I’ll write more about it later, but we’ve conquered a few hurdles which I have thankful for.

Today is for celebrating the end of 2016 and ushering in 2017.  I thought I’d share some photos from Misha’s holidays season.

If you’ve ever been around a Jack Russell Terrier you know that they are curious and nosy.  The holidays season brings out all Misha’s investigative skills.  Christmas cards?  Let me see! Christmas tree…is that a new ornament?  Sniff, sniff, sniff.  Oooh, presents!  Is there one for me?  I’m sure this one is mine.

This is a collection of Misha’s holiday memories to start the new year.  I hope you enjoy them.

Are they watching? Who sent this card?

Do you give presents to your dog?  I do.  Do dog toys have “that” smell?  She always knows which presents are hers under the tree.

Amazingly, for such a curious dog, she never bothers the tree and she never tries to get into the gifts.  In fact, she may be better behaved at Christmas than any other time of the year.  Maybe she knows about Santa.  It’s probably more likely the whole holiday scene exhausts her.

Misha hasn’t quite figured out the whole unwrapping thing.  But, she knows how to ask for help (sitting patiently and staring at a human).  She sure was surprised to get her favorite toy…a squirrel!  (It’s her third.)

Yes! Now I will chew the paws off the paws on my new dog toy

Hoping your holidays were merry whatever and however you celebrated.

Wishing you all the best for the new year!
