For the next 10 days, my sister’s dog will be staying with us.  She’s a 65 lb. German Shepherd mix.

Misha and her are best friends in the way that two dogs that are afraid of everything are best friends.  They tolerate each other during snack times and avoid each other the rest of the time.  They do have little games that they play.  Misha growls if Summit walks by her while she is in her tent.  Summit gets back at her by blocking her from coming in the back door.  Then, when she does, Summit chases her down the hall.

When Misha was younger, I had problems with the two.  Misha was submissive with her elder cousin, except when food came into the room. She’s growl and snap at her larger counterpart.  I’ve worked with her every time Summit has visited and now for the most part it goes well.  Only problem is Summit can’t see too well, so when we share Cheerios or dog food, I have to put Misha in a sit and then let Summit have a chance to get it.  Otherwise, Misha would steal them all.

Right now, Misha is asleep on top of my bed pillow.  Summit is at the front door waiting for her parents to come back.DSCN0201_176sunset jan 2
