Wordless Wednesday: Too Tired, Time to Get Cozy

Wordless Wednesday: Too Tired, Time to Get Cozy

Does my dog look tired? I took Misha to my sister’s for Super Bowl festivities. She knows when she gets there that Summit’s dog treat balls will have treats in them. She spent the first quarter rolling the big ball around. She has one of her own, but it’s special at Summit’s house! Then, she found a new ball. This one was tricky. She’s never had a treat ball beat her before. So, she played with it and played with…

My Dog, My Nurse

My Dog, My Nurse

Our Caring Canine Companions Several years ago, I read an article in Dog Fancy magazine about a woman who was receiving chemotherapy.  Every day she came home from her session and went to bed, too fatigued to jump back into her routine. While she slept, her dogwould get all his tennis balls and gently place them around her body, careful never to wake her.  Tennis balls were his favorite toy and he must have figured she was in need of…

Wrapping Up the Holidays with My Dog

Wrapping Up the Holidays with My Dog

It has been awhile since I’ve blogged.  I apologize.  The second half of 2016 kept throwing one thing after another at Misha and me. I got food poisoning with effects that lingered for several weeks.  Misha was attacked by neighbors cats…twitce.  Windows 10 updates prevented me from using the internet for anything else for almost a full month.  Misha had a blister on her back that was slow to heal.  My hard drive crashed.  Misha got fleas and we took…

My Little Dog is No Longer Obsessed with Eating Tan Bark

These three photos may not look like much.  A dog walking in the back yard.  But, do you notice anything?  My dog is “unleashed”. No big deal, right?  Not for a regular dog.  But, for Misha…well, this is a sign that she is finally growing up and finally gotten over one of her worst behavior problems. You see, Misha was just a little over 1 year old when our lives got stressful.  She transitioned from puppy to one year old…

Giraffe Ears are Tasty on This Dog Toy

Giraffe Ears are Tasty on This Dog Toy

Grandma bought Misha a new dog toy.  It’s a giraffe that is about the same size as her.  It was cute to watch her pick it up by a leg and drag it over to the living room. Once she got there, she threw it around a few times.  Then, she plopped herself down and went to work pulling the fur off the ear. She chewed it up pretty good for about 20 minutes. All that work seemed to tire…

Misha Runs Into A Cat

Misha Runs Into A Cat

Literally. My dog ran right into a cat. Misha has a habit of not noticing creatures in our back yard. Especially, when she has to go.  She is oblivious to everything around her except her mission. And, this dog needed to do her business. We don’t own a cat. They shouldn’t be in our yard. There was no reason for her to expect a cat to be in her poop spot. I took this photo the day before the incident. …
