My Dog and I Participate in the Community Rock Hide and Seek

My Dog and I Participate in the Community Rock Hide and Seek

I couple of weeks ago I found a rock sitting on a fence post a block from where I live.  It made my day.  It was hidden there by a neighbor participating in one of the many community rock hide and seeks taking part across America. I wasn’t looking for rocks, one found me.  But, it brought me such pleasure, I decided to play along.  I can’t draw or paint, so I did what I do best.  I colored them…

How a Dog’s Physical Appearance Changes Over the Years

The other day, a friend showed me a photo of a dog because the ears reminded her of Misha.  The photo reminded me of one I had taken of Misha when she was 6 months old. I went back through my folders to find it and I was surprised to see how much my dog’s physical appearance had changed in 8 years. We are just wrapping up Fogust.  That’s foggy + August.  It’s the month that makes us think that summer is over.  Then, wham! We get hit with September.  True to course, we’re heading into a heat wave this week. Even Misha feels it.  When I got out of the shower, I found her laying on my pillow surfer style.   It’s too warm to get under the blankets today. She looks like she has the weight of the world on…

After she got her treat, she went back to bed.  But, her blanket was on the outside and she wanted to get on the inside. She looked around for a human to help her, but no one was in sght.  Well, they were but they weren’t very helpful.  She…

Little Dogs Need Walks, Too!

Little Dogs Need Walks, Too!

My dog’s favorite time of day besides all those that involve food is taking her walk. I’m happy to say she has recovered from whatever was bugging her earlier this week.  Today, Misha was jumping up and down at the door in that way that only Jack Russell’s can do.  I knew she was ready to get back to our routine. It’s just as important for little dogs to get exercise.  A daily walk not only burns off energy and…

My Dog is Getting Used to People

My Dog is Getting Used to People

A funny thing happened on the way to Misha’s 8th birthday. Something I really didn’t even notice. She began to lose her fear of people. My Dog is Afraid of Strangers So, this is how Misha usually greets people… She’s terrified of strangers. When meeting someone new, she would not sniff their shoes like a normal dog. She would bark incessantly. It often took several months of regular meetings before she would let a new person pet her. Case in…
