May May Came to Play

May May Came to Play

Meet Ellie May or May May as she is affectionately called. She’s my niece’s dog. She was bought from a homeless person when she was just a pup. Her days on the street scarred her a bit.  She’s skittish and doesn’t warm up to people easily.  I’m slowly becoming her friend by bribing her with dog treats and Cheerios. She came to play with Misha last week.  I use the word “play” loosely.  Misha and May May are alike in…

May I Present to You the Queen

Grandma bought Misha a new dog toy.  It’s a giraffe that is about the same size as her.  It was cute to watch her pick it up by a leg and drag it over to the living room. Once she got there, she threw it around a few times.  Then, she plopped herself down and went to work pulling the fur off the ear. She chewed it up pretty good for about 20 minutes. All that work seemed to tire…

My Dog Before and After the 4th of July

My Dog Before and After the 4th of July

Our neighborhood sounded like a war zone on the 4th of July which meant my dog was terrified.  I gave her acepromazine about an hour before everything started. She sat with me on my chair for awhile. Hey mom!  I’m feeling loopy! Even though the sedative was setting in it still took a while for her to settle down.  She had trouble finding her safe place. I keep this spot under my computer desk set up especially for her.  Her…
