I took Misha to a family birthday party this weekend.  She was so well behaved, she was exhausted the next day. It isn’t easy being good when you are a very happy Jack Russell Terrier.

Fireworks are No Joke for Dogs!

Fireworks are No Joke for Dogs!

I’m not sure people realize how traumatizing fireworks are for dogs.  To a dog, those loud booms and whistles sound as if the walls are coming down around them.  Their instinct is to flee and many of them do. Sedatives Help For the dog…not you!  I gave Misha a sedative for the 4th of July.  It really helped.  But, the fireworks have gone on far beyond the holiday.  They start a week before the 4th and people are still shooting…

Amazon.com Prime Day Dog Deals!

It’s Prime Day at Amazon.com! That means we can pamper our pups and save some money!  I’m all for saving money. Look at some of the great stuff I found for Misha. Good thing she doesn’t have a credit card or I’d be in trouble. My dog loves puzzles and this Hide-A-Squirrel toy fits the bill. I wonder if they are storing any nuts in there. I don’t know about you, but if I were a dog I’d sure love…

Fireworks terrify my dog.   My neighbors have been setting them off for a week.  I’ve been finding my dog under the bed, the desk, the dresser, behind the TV stand…anywhere she can cram her small body. It’s sad. I’ve written in the past of how I give Misha a sedative on the 4th of July to help calm her nerves.  She relaxes while World War III plays out in our neighborhood.  Without it, she runs around the house with a…

Wordless Wednesday: Well, Good Morning to You, Too!

Normally, my dog sleeps on my bed under the quilt or in her tent with blankets piled on top of her.  But, it’s been hot.  Even my chilly at all times pup was warm at night. On warm nights, she prefers her bed in the living room.  That means I have to have the tent and the bed in the room since she’s fickle and I’m not dragging the tent in at 2 am. One morning I woke up and…

May May Came to Play

May May Came to Play

Share

Meet Ellie May or May May as she is affectionately called. She’s my niece’s dog. She was bought from a homeless person when she was just a pup. Her days on the street scarred her a bit.  She’s skittish and doesn’t warm up to people easily.  I’m slowly becoming her friend by bribing her with dog treats and Cheerios. She came to play with Misha last week.  I use the word “play” loosely.  Misha and May May are alike in…
